At Learning with Michelle – The Online Math Teacher, you can have confidence in my extensive qualifications and experience as a tutor. Here are some key credentials:

  • Ontario College of Teachers (OCT Certified): I am a certified teacher with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT), demonstrating my commitment to the highest standards of professional practice and ethics.

 

  • Bachelor of Arts and Masters in Education: I have received a BA where the focus of my studies was in Environment and Resource Management. I also hold a Masters in Education with a focus on Elementary Education.

  • Over 15 Years of Classroom Teaching: With more than 15 years of classroom teaching experience, I have a deep understanding of the curriculum, teaching practice, behaviour management, and a solid understanding of the challenges students may encounter in their education.

  • Specializing in Diverse Learning Needs: Much of my career has been dedicated to working with students who have a variety of learning disabilities and special needs. I hold a Specialist in Special Education. This experience equips me with the ability to provide tailored support for all students, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Expertise in IEP Development: I have expertise in developing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and understand the importance of creating strategies that cater to the unique needs of students.

  • Parent and Teacher Coaching: I have experience coaching parents and teachers on best practices for accommodating and teaching students with learning disabilities, how to write and understand IEPs, as well as how to navigate Special Education procedures within the school system. I am here to provide guidance and insights to support you and your child's educational journey.
